The Missionary Center for Medicines is a voluntary association, born in Florence in November 1977, that sends medicines and surgical devices in the Global South.
It has been founded by Massimo Ghiribelli, thanks to the help of the professor Mauro Bassi, at the time responsible of the Missionary Office of the Florence Diocese, the association has been located firstly in the palace of the Archibishop Curia (1977-84), then in Villa Vittoria (1984-94) and since 1994 in Via degli Agli in Florence.
In 1999 it has been recognized as a voluntary association through the decree no. 71 (14/4/1999) of the Florence Province and it is considered a Non Profit Organisation according to the Italian law.
